Welcome to Powdermills Pottery on-line storeAs you will see, as well as selling the range of pots made at Powdermills, we sell the work of approximately 30 other Dartmoor craft-makers. They work not only with clay, but also willow, wood, wool, music, leather and more.
Our range specialises in hand-made work predominantly from on or around Dartmoor, or by those who are connected with Powdermills. The result is a range of work which reflects the mood, landscape and life on the moor, and which can be used every day.
The second phase of our on-line store is underway, after which we hope to include the furniture, prints and paintings that we sell at Powdermills.

 Powdermills' Hillfarmer range of pots are usually glazed inside with a green glaze made from river gravel, wood ash from the grate and clay. The outside of the pots are given their colour and texture in the wood-fuelled kiln as flame, ash and ember react with the Dartmoor clay from which they are made.
They are suitable for oven, dishwasher and microwave.
Because these pots are made from unrefined material, and using primitive methods, each pot is individual and may vary from the image we show.

This placement has now been taken for 2008 but aim to offer it again in 2009. | |  As well as selling the pottery made on site at Powdermills (see section entitled 'Powdermills Pots'), our shop sells the work of many other potters, who either live on and around Dartmoor, or who have been associated with Powdermills in the past. The result is a wide range of pottery and ceramics, rooted in the area's ceramic and pottery traditions. | |  We stock the work of blacksmith James Kendrew, who lives and works just north of Dartmoor. James manipulates hot metal in his traditional coal-fired forge, making a range of traditional and contemporary ironwork to suit a variety of environments and budgets. | | At the moment we sell one range of jewellery at Powdermills: the work of Hannah McCann. Hannah first came to Powdermills in 2006 to complete a work experience placement, whilst studying at Plymouth College of Art and Design. She has since become a valued member of the Powdermills team, crewing at firings and helping out at shows, to name but two of the many things she helps with.
The beads in Hannah's jewllery are individually hand-made and fired in the anagama kiln at Powdermills. Each necklace and bracelet is individually designed and assembled by hand. | |  Currently we sell the work of Fernando Garcia, who designs and makes leather bags. All of them are hand-crafted and sewn from fine-quality leather, using techniques and tools which date from the middle-ages. Each is unique, and never repeated. | |  At Powdermills we sell the work of a small number of textile craft-makers who live on and around Dartmoor. We offer the work Claire Winter through our on-line shop, who makes clothing from handspun wools.
